27.03.2025 - For many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), cyberattacks are still an abstract, intangible threat. Although awareness of cyber risks has increased, the challenge of putting theoretical knowledge into practice remains. To make it easier for SMEs to get to grips with cyber security, the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and the ITSec4KMU association are organising a free awareness-raising event which will be held in Bern on 12 June.

According to the SME portal of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), SMEs account for over 99 per cent of companies and provide two thirds of jobs. Around 98 per cent of these companies employ between 1 and 50 people. However, many lack the resources or the necessary know-how to tackle the issue of cybersecurity in a targeted manner.
At the awareness-raising event in Bern on 12 June, organised by the NCSC and ITSec4KMU, SME managers will gain practical insights into the cyberthreats posed by phishing and ransomware. Through expert presentations and a live hacking session, they will learn about concrete and cost-effective protective measures that are easy to implement. The event also offers the opportunity to chat with experts and managers from other SMEs.
As a first, simultaneous interpretation will be provided to cater to SMEs from French-speaking Switzerland.
Registration
The event will start at 1pm on 12 June at the Federal Office of Personnel (FOPER) in Bern and is aimed at SMEs with up to 50 employees. The event is free of charge but participants are required to register by 30 May at: Cybersecurity for SMEs Tickets, Thu, 12.06.2025 at 1:30pm | Eventbrite
