As part of the implementation of the 2018–2022 national strategy for the protection of Switzerland against cyber-risks (NCS), awareness-raising and the associated public relations work are of central importance. Dedicated and ongoing information on cyberissues is intended to raise public awareness and promote resilience to cyberattacks. The NCSC has already been offering targeted content for private individuals, companies and IT specialists on its website for some time. Now, specific information for public authorities is also available.

In addition to current topics and concrete guidelines on how to react, the website also addresses threats in cyberspace to which public authorities may be exposed. When compiling the content, care was taken to integrate existing knowledge. For example, the "Guidelines for communes" by the Network for Investigative Support in the Fight against Cybercrime (NEDIK) forms an important basis. In addition, there is a selection of additional information from other organisations that are involved in cybersecurity issues. The content is coordinated and continuously updated in cooperation with the Swiss Security Network (SSN).

As part of the implementation of the NCS, this information service for authorities is also an accompanying measure for the implementation of measure 1 (the early detection of trends and technologies and the accumulation of know-how). In this regard, the SSN is working on an e-learning tool that will be available to all communal, cantonal and federal administrations in the course of 2022. This will be used to train staff on best practices in cyber and information security.
