- These updates are very important because they guarantee that your device is secure and works properly.
- Updates, also called patches, fix software errors, close computer security gaps, add new functions to the software and can improve the interaction between hardware and software.
- If your software is out of date or obsolete and the manufacturer no longer provides updates, you should renew it. Out-of-date software is vulnerable to malware and carries a higher risk of system failure. You also run the risk of no longer being able to access certain programs and losing your data.
